Photography Classes Taught by Bill Skees

note: one and two-week intensive versions of these classes are also available aboardship on charter cruises to picturesque locations in the Caribbean and worldwide

These classes are offered as intensive one-week courses in Colorado, taught on a ranch adjacent to the Routt National Forest, with emphasis on digital image making and computer image enhancement.


101. "Beginning Photography": Learn to make pictures that capture your imagination and make your photos worth keeping. Learn what your camera can do and what digital image manipultion will do for your final prints.

Bring your camera to class and experience a constructive critique each session, with positive professional direction on how to get the pictures you want.

Fee: $300 Prerequisites: Energy and enthusiasm.

201. "The Photo Project": Learn how to set photographic goals and how to achieve them. You choose the kind of images you want to make. You learn how the masters achieve the images you imagine, how to plan, execute and refine the steps that will guarantee the results you imagine. Learn how professionals work.

Fee: $450 six weeks. Prerequisites: Class 101 or equivalent.

301. "Creativity: The Photographer as Artist" Learn how to discover, recognize and explore your own "vision," how to find what you really want to do, how to "see" photographically, and how to build a body of work that reflects your interests and your own sense of the esthetic. Learn to produce fine art photography.

Fee: $450 six weeks. Prerequisites: Class 101 or equivalent.

401. "Individualized Instruction": Special topics such as portrait lighting, computer enhancement, digital restoration, manipulation, and special effects.

402. "Individualized Instruction": Classical portraiture, establishing mood, envisioning intimate group settings, and the figure --- environmental, abstract, individual, personal.
